About Mex Volleyball
The Mexico International Volleyball Tournament (previously known as “Estero Beach”) is held the last weekend in June in Baja, Mexico – just a short drive south of San Diego. The tournament, which began in 1974, often hosts several thousand amateur and professional players and has been considered the largest beach volleyball tournament in the world.
Tournament Format
The Mex Volleyball tournament is a weighted blind draw, beach doubles volleyball tournament with both Men’s and Women’s divisions. Pool play takes place on Friday OR Saturday and single elimination playoffs are on Sunday. Players do not register with a partner.
Tournament Results
The 2025 MEX Volleyball tournament was a great success! With 234 men’s teams and 136 women’s teams we had a total of 740 players. Congrats to winners Rob Heidger & Marcus Heidger and Jennifer Sanders & Cathy Feldkamp!
Party Time
Mex Volleyball is famous (or, as some would say, infamous) for its festive atmosphere both on and off the courts. The venue provides a perfect party environment on the beach, with beer and tacos being sold at very reasonable prices. Please make sure you stay within walking distance or have a designated driver.

Rosarito has great places to stay within walking distance of the tournament. The party continues after the tournament in various hot tubs!
